I usually try to make January as low-key as possible--no projects, lots of reading, some movies and extra rest. This is getting harder and harder as my life seems to get busier and busier. This is what my low-key January was like:
Wife--worked on a new budget with Joe, vacation plans for March, and lunch dates and Office and Lost dates.
Mom--drove to multiple piano, dance, gymnastic, and horseback riding lessons; helped with multiple homework assignments and projects; drove to and from social activities; countless hours of "therapy" and encouragement and nagging; and all of the usual mom stuff.
Exercise--ran 50 miles; performed over 1,000 sit-ups and 500 push-ups; lifted 100s of pounds; several hours of yoga contortions and stretching!
Young Women--hours of meetings, besides Sunday meetings; made 60 cutesie handouts and 60 cutesie birthday gifts that took too long and were not thoroughly appreciated; prepared for and had New Beginnings for 40 Young Women and their parents; took 40 youth to SLC for an activity; spent countless hours worrying, visiting, and praying for girls.
House--put Christmas and snowmen away; planned, shopped for, and began a new project in the loft; cooked and cleaned up 80-100 meals; did over 100 loads of laundry; vacuumed, dusted, cleaned bathrooms, straightened up; shopped, ran errands, and planned menus, etc.
FUN--read some books, watched some movies, slept a little more!
