"Plant a Tree for Tomorrow..."

Lainey with her fellow winners, Mayor Byron Anderson,
Tree Specialist Gary Fawson, and Principal Jeff Wyatt

The 5th graders at Lainey's school competed in an essay contest for Arbor Day and Lainey was chosen as one of the three winners. Her essay was about...trees, of course, and talked about how trees are heroes. The mayor came to present her with a certificate, she read her essay to all of the 5th graders, and she also got to take home... a tree. She loves to write and is currently on page 37 of her latest story--a novel this time. How many 10 year-olds spend their down time writing novels? She is definitely one-of-a-kind and is hoping to become the next J.K. Rowling so that she can buy her own horse.
