Two days after the marathon--decided to do an easy run for 1 hour: foot very sore.
Three days after the marathon--decided to do weight training for 1 hour: foot more sore.
Four days after the marathon--laid on the couch most of the day: foot worse and so tired.
Five days after the marathon--went to the PT (he is an ultramarathoner) to get my foot taped, my orthotic tweaked, and permission to take a week off of running. (I wanted time off of everything!)
Here is what I did for my week of rest besides all of the usual stuff.
Monday--painful run, mom stuff, FHE.
Tuesday--7 hour round trip drive to Vernal for Sterling Scholar Competition with a pit stop at the BYU law library for a book Joe needed. It was a fun time with Joe and Courtnee. Courtnee did not win (of course she should have), but it really was an honor and great experience for her to be part of it. Joe and I always like car trips, although it is more fun for me because I can sleep and read. On the way home in the dark, I pulled a blanket over my head and read with a flashlight so Joe could see to drive.
Wednesday--arrived home from Vernal at 1:30 a.m. and got up at 2:30 a.m. to let cheerleaders in to take Riley for an early surprise breakfast. Back to bed at 3:30 a.m. after the cheerleaders came late. Awake again at 5:30 when Riley got home. Spent the rest of the day working on the computer and laying around on the couch.
Thursday--Lots of running around mom stuff, appointment with the PT, Stake Leadership Training for YW.
Friday--Drove Riley to the orthodontist in Tooele. Drove to GES to watch Lainey receive a special award for an Arbor Day essay she wrote. Drove back to the orthodontist to pick Riley up. Drove Riley back to school. Drove to GES to pick up Lainey and Halle. Drove to the store to help Lainey pick birthday gifts. Came home and made treats for Lainey's friend's birthday. Drove Lainey to the party. Drove Riley to a cheerleading party. Worked in the yard for three hours. Sat down for 1 hour to eat and watch movie with Joe, Courtnee, and Halle. Picked Riley up from cheerleading party at 11:00.
