COURTNEE: Great Accomplishments, Important Life Lessons!

As Courtnee wraps up the end of another school year, it is another streak of busyness and lots of good things. Through it all, she has developed some very important qualities and learned some great life lessons.

UYSO--Courtnee ended her 1st year in the Utah Youth Symphony at a final concert in Abravenal Hall. What an incredible opportunity and reward for 6 years of playing the violin. The concert was amazing and it has been a real privilege to watch her be a part of this organization. I am amazed when I see her up there playing that she is my daughter. I think she has learned the importance of SACRIFICE (getting up before 7 a.m. every Saturday morning) and DILLIGENCE (many hours or practice) through this experience.

SCHOOL--The hard work, stress, and late nights continues to pay off as Courtnee received top honors at GHS for her third consecutive year of a 4.0. What a great accomplishment! She has definitely learned the importance of HARD WORK. WAY TO GO COURTNEE!!!

ELECTIONS--Courtnee decided to do class elections, again, and she WON! She is now the Senior class Historian and looking forward to a year of student governmnet and many years of planning class reunions. An extra fun part will be working with her cousins, Jed and Kiley Jones. I think this experience has taught her that PERSISTANCE always pays off!

WISDOM TEETH--a not so fun thing this month was getting her wisdom teeth out. It has been three weeks and she now has a "golf-ball" looking lump on one side of her face and is back on antibiotics, ibuprofin, and warm packs for a secondary infection. The laying around and feeling gross is getting old really fast, but she is developing PATIENCE.

TRACK--track season is finally over and Courtnee is sooooo glad! This has been a difficult running year for her and she is looking forward to a fresh start with cross country starting in June. Despite the discouragement, she has stuck with it, been to some really great meets, and learned a lot about herself. I think I am the most proud of her for hanging in there with track because she has to work at it the hardest and it is not easy to stick with something when you don't feel very good about your performance. Hopefully, the lessons of HARD WORK, SACRIFICE, DILLIGENCE, PATIENCE, AND PERSISTANCE will carry her through a great year as a Senior!
